Swimming 2012

The girls are taking lessons again.  They are to the point where they need to be off the floats, but the YMCA keeps kids under 6 in floats so it is more fun time than learning a lot of new swimming.
Sasha loves to jump in the water.  Leeza likes the swimming part best.
Well, maybe Leeza likes the cute instructor best.  She is a little boy crazy(and only 4).

The Haircut

Leeza had cut Sasha's hair once before, but it was fairly easy to find with a good cut.  They had scissors taken away from them as punishment.  I was just letting them use scissors again(supervised of course).  one Sturday morning as I was getting ready, Sasha asked if she sould use the scissors.  She promised to ONLY cut paper.  About 10 minutes later this is what I found in the play room.
There were clumps of hair on the bed and Leeza's bangs were scalped!  No bangs at all.  Plus a few chunks of hair were missing in various places.  Sasha had one piece cut out of her hair too, but Leeza's was bad.  Leeza immediately threw Sasha under the bus and said Sasha did it!  Leeza was proud of her hair cut!  Oh my!
I decided to try to fix it a little and went to the supercuts place by Walmart.  If you can believe it, the lady made it worse!  She didn't cut anything straight and just chopped away.  I had to recut it afterwards to make it look not horrible.  She even hacked Sasha's hair up and hers is easy to cut.  It will be a long long time before the bangs grow back.  They are cut to the scalp.

New Beds

New beds and comforters to make up a big girls room.  They are a little big since they have a bookshelf in the footboard, but the shelves make a good nightstand.  I thought about going with one full size, but maybe in a few years the girls might want seperate bedrooms.

The matching dresser has a nice mirror  The girls like the colors.

Perfect beds for two perfect princesses.  The room will never be this neat and clean again!
Just testing the beds for bounciness.  They pass the test.  I think I am going to lower the mattresses and springs to the floor as they are a little tall for the girls to climb up in.

Snowmen

There wasn't much snow, but the girls were able to make snowmen.  They used the snowmen kits I got them
They were pretty proud of their accomplishment.  As you can see, we used up most of the snow in the backyard.
But there was enough left for a snowball fight.
Leeza running from Sasha and her snowball!
We made snow angels also.  They showed up ok if you knew where to look.
Sasha was not content with her little snowman.  She wanted to build a BIG snowman.
Leeza and I went back inside and Sasha stayed outside rolling her BIG snowman.  She did great considering how little snow there was.  She only got the bottom done before the melting snow and sun got ahead of her.
The snowmen didn't last the afternoon and melted quickly into little snow piles.  At least we got to make some this year as there has been very little snow.

Happy New Year

Although 2011 ended on a sad note with losing Frosty, it was a good year.

My Frosty

My little Frosty passed away Wednesday night.  She was one tough little girl.  She fought off Cushing's disease for 5 1/2 years.  The vets at U of I said that the life expectancy was only 1-4 years for dogs once they got Cushings.  She had cancer and survived that.  This April right after her 15th birthday, she began to have strokes-most likely from the brain tumor.  She lost an eye and was essentially blind, but she still got around.  Wednesday afternoon, she had another stroke and it was a bad one.  Frosty is finally at rest and is no longer in pain.  I love my little puppy and miss her terribly.  Sasha had bonded with her and called her Sasha's doggie.  She believed that Frosty kept the ghosts and witches away from the house and protected her.  Goodbye my Frosty.  I will miss you and love you forever.

My Christmas Angels

What can I say?  The pictures say it all.  My little Christmas angels.  So beautiful and sweet.  For the rest of my life, their smiles will be the only Christmas presents I will ever want or need.
