Aunt Debbie and Cousin Niki

I am still catching up from last week.
This is Debbie and Debbie Jr at the zoo. The girls had a good time at the zoo. They petted some goats in the petting zoo. Sasha loved the pen of guinea pigs. Then we rode the little zoo train. The girls were a little afraid at first, but Sasha was strutting when she came off of it. Just like she was thinking she was a big girl now that she had ridden the train. The zoo is small, but nice.

Lots of time was spent outside on the swings.
Aunt Debbie had to try out all the equipment. The girls are behind her pushingher down the slide.
When Debbie got tired of pushing, she talked the girls into swinging their sidewalk chalk.
They wore Niki out too so she convinced them to swing their chalk also!
They did get some time in actually swinging, but they have yet to figure out how to swing themselves properly.
The girls liked the sidewalk chalk, but they press so hard that it breaks easily. The have a lot of chalk so there is always another piece.
Sasha and Debbie planted a few tomato plants and marigold flowers. Leeza thought the dirt was way too dirty and had no interest in helping them.We went out to dinner a couple of times. At first, Sasha was a little overwhelmed as the restaurant was very noisy, but she quickly adjusted. Here she is later in the week, acting like an old pro at eating out. She was sitting sideways in her booster with her legs propped up-just having a good time.Leeza liked going out also as she loves to watch other people- especially babies.
This day, Leeza did not get a nap as we went to her new preschool to meet her teacher and class that day. She was pretty tired that night.
The girls missed Debbie and Niki and kept asking about them. I finally told them that they had to go home to feed their puppies and kitties. Now the girls ask daily about the puppies and kitties!

Pre School

Leeza started preschool Monday. Her bus did not show up her first day so I brought her to school. There were a few tears when I left her at the classroom, but she was all smiles when I picked her up. Tuesday, the bus was late, but showed up and Leeza was not thrilled to ride in it. Today she did a little better getting on the bus, but was still a little unsure.
At preschool, she has had her first music class and met her new speech therapist. I kept her old speech therapist who will continue to come to daycare since preschool ends in a month for summer break. She misses her afternoon nap at daycare since preschool is in the afternoon. So far, she has been tired, but is doing ok. She seems to like preschool, but would rather not ride the bus.

Happy Birthday Leeza

We had the girls birthday party last Thursday. Leeza had Thomas the Train theme for her 3rd birthday. Sasha had Curious George and Sponge Bob for her 2 1/2 birthday. Since we missed being together for Sasha's second birthday last fall by 8 days, we had a combined birthday party. Both girls had a good time.
We had a Sponge Bob cake and a Thomas cake. Debbie and Niki were here to help celebrate and they took most of the pictures that day so I have to wait until they send them to me. Then I will post some more pictures.
The kitchen and living room were both decorated with lots of balloons.
After the party, the ballons were great fun to run around with. The girls got a little wild and crazy with the balloons. These balloons were tough. The girls jumped on them, sat on them, bit them and they didn't pop! The girls loved the cake and ice cream. Leeza also loved the engine from the top of her cake. Sasha liked the Spnge Bob from her cake. She really liked the green frosting too!
The girls main present from mom was the tricycles that they had been wanting for a while. "Push Niki push" was heard many many times that day!
They really had fun with the bikes, but they wanted to be pushed rather than pedal. We will work on that one.

They got lots of nice presents from everyone. They loved the play dough and mom was ok with it after she hid the green and red colors and just gave them the white and yellow(they blend in better with the carpet color-ha). They got lots of beads which they love and several outfits including sponge bob PJs for Sasha.

I will catch up on everything this weekend. The last week or so has been really busy.

Swings and slide!

Checking out the progress. Almost there!
The first trip up the stairs. Leeza in the lead of course.

The first official slide!
Everyone made it down safely.
One swing done-one to go. Sasha got on the swings first and she never wanted to get off them.

Short legs mean the swings are very low to the ground. The girls loved the swings. Leeza got a little dizzy and went back to the slide. Sasha just kept saying push mama push. I did get Leeza to push her for about 2 minutes, but we have to work on learning to swing ourselves as mama gets tired of pushing after a while.

Grandpa

Grandpa came to visit and has been busy putting together the girl's new swing set. They were busy all day helping Grandpa. Someone had to move all those boards that were stacked in those neat piles!

Sasha discovered a bug on her while they were working. It took the two of them to remove it from her shirt.
The girls can't wait until they can play on their new swing set. So far, only Grnadpa has been allowed to be inside it.
This was early morning before it warmed up. The girls were very busy checking the yard out.THis picture has nothing to do with Grandpa's visit, but i just thought it was so cute. They are wearing their Easter hats, but no pants. A new fashion trend.

Busy Easter

We had a busy Easter Sunday. We got up and had breakfast and then colored our easter eggs.
We then got our Easter baskets from Mama. Sasha got the puppy and Leeza got the bunny. After we got the baskets, we went into the playroom and found out that the Easter bunny had visited. There were eggs hidden all over the place. Well, not hidden exactly, but we had a lot of fun collecting them and opening them and trying to eat all the candy while mama tried to get the candy away from us. After the incident Saturday with the pink peeps, mama decided that all that candy was not a good idea. Then we got dressed up in our easter dresses and went to visit a friend. Aren't we cute in our dresses and new shoes. We wore the shoes all day long. Sasha's are silver sparkly and Leeza's are pink(of course). After lunch and naptime, we got changed into our Sponge Bob and Buzz lightyear PJs that are about 1 size too small, but we really wanted to wear them. Our shoes looked a little funny, but we love our new shoes so we didn't care. Leeza saw the hard boiled eggs that we had colored and mama had put on a plate with some plastic grass to look pretty. Leeza decided that they look really good and tried to eat one- shell and all. After mama peeled the eggs, Leezxa ate 3 of them! She liked the eggs so much more than the candy. We played on our sli de all afternoon and then after dinner took Frosty for a walk. Then it was time for bed!

Dress Up

We tried on our Easter dresses today, Sasha was tired as they missed their nap yesterday and I did not let them sleep late today. I have an old charcoal sketch of me done long long ago. I think Sasha's expression and face look just like I did in that picutre.
Don't they look like big girls! They are growing up so fast. They are so different from the little toddlers that arrived 5 months ago.
This is Leeza's "Debbie" look. Whenever I see it, I know she is going to get into trouble soon. Plus I think she looks just like Debbie when she is in one of these moods.
I was trying to get a good picture of all of us. Trying toget 2 kids to smile at the camera at the same time is tough. We did better than at Christmas, but still didn't get that one great picture.
If Sasha hadn't had her arm up, this picture would be good. Some day, we will get a good photo.
