Nap Time

We are always happy to get up from our naps.
Aren't I cute? My hair gets really wild during nap time.
This is the first thing I see when I open the door after nap time. They slept really well at nap time this weekend. I think it is just catching up from being sick all week.

I'm back- sort of

The girls are feeling better although Leeza is still on antibiotics for an ear infection. Sasha still has a cough, but not nearly as bad as it was. Both still have some diarrhea(probably too much info!) so I will be glad when they are better. I am still sick, but the girls think it is fun to bounce on Mama when she is laying down so I don't try to do that too much.

We all need haircuts! I knew they needed one, but their hair is really long in these pictures! Leeza hair is filling in and not nearly as thin as it was a few months ago. Sasha's hair is very thick now and can be very curly.
I put most of the 18 month stuff away, but left some out to try to get some use out of it. As you can tell, she no longer fits into the 18 months and they tend to be a little tight and short. I am going to put the rest of it away soon.
Last Sunday was 3 months home for the girls! We didn't do anything to celebrate. Everyone was sick so it was spent wiping noses and changing pull ups. They have not gained much weight this month and seem to have gotten past the first catchup growth spurt. I'm not sure if they gotten any taller, but they seem to have caught up to where they should be and are going to grow more slowly now.
The latest update:
Their speech therapist want me to start working on the function of objects. They can name a lot of items now, but when she asks what they do, they can't say. For example, they can say fork, but don't say, eat with it. I guess this means they are starting to move on to the next stage of language.
They can say almost all body parts-nose, ears, eyes, mouth, arms, legs, fingers, toes, tummy...
They learned how to walk backwards and now do it and expect me to catch them if they fall.
Leeza is playing longer at different things. She still has a rather short attention span, but it is much longer than it was. She is building towers with her blocks rather than just stacking a few similar ones up.
Even though they have only been home 3 months, we had our 6 month SW visit Saturday. I have to get her report back and the rest of the girls info together and have it sent off by the time they are home 6 months. I didn't even clean the house for her visit. I was too tired from being sick. She didn't seem to mind.
The girls sat with me and watched part of a movie. Normally they play and ignore the TV. I think it is just because they are still tired from being sick, but it was nice to have some quiet time with them.

Sick

Everyone is sick around here. However, once the girls get going they seem to still have a lot of energy. I've not taken a single photo this week-bad mama. I'll try to do some soon.

Then and Now

I finally am getting my photos from my trip printed out. Looking at them, I realized just how much the girls have changed.
What a difference 5 months can make! It has been a while since I looked at the old pictures. Leeza was so small back then. She fit into the size 12 month clothing I brought for her. Today she is starting to wear 3T. All in less than 6 months.

Jan 16 Weekly update

The girls got new chairs this weekend. They fold up when not in use so there should be space for them. They had just gotten up from their nap so I haven't brushed their hair yet.No, I didn't turn off the heat. Sasha has pretty much out grown her 18 months clothing so I was taking some of it out of the closet. These were in the closet and they had to wear them They are too small for either of them, but they wanted to wear them anyway.

Leeza likes pink fluffy things so she wore the jacket all day long.

Sasha wore this for most of the morning. She ended up wearing 4 different outfits today. 6 if you count the 2 different jacket she had on. She like clothes!

I put their new sheets on the bed in the playroom finally and Leeza had to check them out right away.

Now for the weekly update. Has is been a week again? Time is going by almost as fast as the girls are growing. We saw the specialist in Springfield Wednesday and do not have to go back for 7 months! So other than a followup regular Dr appointment on the 26th to check on Leeza's ear infection, we finally have no tests or other Dr appointments scheduled until June! They have had to have 5 blood samples taken since they came home- that is about one every other week. They are probably as glad as I am that they won't have to have any more until June!
We went shopping at a big mall. We had been to the local mall, but that mall is very small. The girls tried on clothes and did very well in the stores.
Sasha offically no longer fits into most of her size 18 tops. She can still wear the pants if they are stretchy.
They are eating many more different foods now, but still no veggies. They drink V-Fusion so that gives them their veggies. They had pizza for lunch and chinese beef stir fry for dinner. They no longer like hot dogs or mac n cheese.
They seem to use new words everyday. They use a few 2 word combos, but they are still working on them.
They can name animals and body parts without any prompting.

Debbie Jr

My girls are growing up fast. They look like little girls now instead of toddlers. This picture reminds me of my sister. Leeza also acts just like Debbie and makes the same faces. The little kitchen I got them came with 101 pieces of plastic food. Most of them fit in a basket in the kitchen. Leeza was carrying the full basket across the living room. Since we had just picked these up, I told her to put the basket back in the kitchen. She looked at me, walked 3 more steps to where Sasha was sitting, dumped the full basket into Sasha's lap, then turned and smiled at me and said "kitchen" and proceeded to put the now empty basket back in the kitchen. I could see my sister doing the exact same thing with the exact same expression. Yes, she IS Debbie JR!

You can see a lot of the food spread out all over the floor in this picture. I usually don't worry too much on the weekends about picking stuff up as it will just get messy again quickly.Sasha still has a little of the toddler look, but it is going fast. She is developing strong opinions on what she likes and what she wants. I know it has been just over 5 months since I first met them, but it seems like they have grown so much in that time. It is hard to think of that little thin child that I met who could not stand to be touched and that I could cradle in one arm. Now, Sasha wants hugs and kisses all the time and loves to sit on my lap.

Shopping and weekly update

They really use their little shopping carts all the time.
The girls picked up their toys and put them in their shopping carts. For a while anyway. I guess it is really fun to dump the whole cart out and then walk through it.
They also played cooking together and helped eah other fix some food. Lots of stirring empty bowls, but they seemed to enjoy it.Of course, the phones are also a big favorite. Leeza does love her phones.Isn't she starting to be a big girl! She is wearing her tiara(upside down) and her PJs. She wore 3 different outfits today. She is going to be a girly girl and be into clothes when she gets bigger.
I guess it is time for the weekly update. Time is going by so fast. Being back to work and past the holidays, it seems like we have little time together during the week. The weather was horrible this week so it took extra time to get home leaving even less time at night for play.
They are starting to say 2 word combos. Leeza spent the whole drive to day care Thursday repeatedly saying, Stop it, stop it, stop it,....... I had just told them to "stop it" when they were fighting over some beads. I guess I am really going to have to watch what I say.
They discovered it is fun to scream really loudly. I am trying to teach them to use their inside voice. They think that is really funny.
When we get ready in the morning, I put their coats on and then Leeza runs to my coat and says "mama's coat".
They do not want to take naps anymore, but need them badly. They go to sleep at night very easily, but take about an hour to go to sleep at naptime. I am glad I only have to do naps on the weekend.
Sasha puts her pull ups on by herself and can get them all the way up (most of the time) Leeza still has no interest in dressing herself. Sasha has a fit every morning when i refuse to let her wear her PJs to day care.
