Swimming

I got a new bigger pool, but since we are going on vacation next week, I did not feel like setting it up.  So we got out the little pool from last year.
As long as it has water, they are happy.  They had to water the plants and most of the yard- one cup at a time.
The red thing is a plastic golf bag.  It has a small hole in the bottom so it is great for filling full of water while it slowly drains out as they push it.  they fought over it all afternoon.
Sasha thought it would be fun to get Mama wet.
Yes, she thought that was real funny.
Leeza was busy watering the concrete.  It made pretty patterns as they pushed it.
It takes a lot of time to fill something that is draining out the bottom as you fill it.

The club house held all those pesky things like shoes, and pants and all the extra toys.

Another Zoo Day

The weather was nice today so we went off to the zoo. The praire dogs were out and active today.  Somedays they hide in their holes.  Today, they were all over the place.
We got there right when the zoo opened so all the animals were just getting up and being fed.
No one was tall enough for the top hole even though they had stairs leading up to it.

Sasha actually walked around the petting zoo today.  She is getting braver there.  The goats are a little aggressive and tend to eat the clothes off your back unless you pay close attention.  They had 2 baby pigs there that the girls really liked.
We got to go in the pen and feed one of the piglets.  Leeza has a bottle, but you can't see it.
Sasha had fun feeding the piglet also.
Despite saying they were not tired, they crashed on the sofa for about an hour.  I was cooking dinner so I didn't even get to enjoy the quiet time.  Oh well, tomorrow is another day.  maybe they will nap tomorrow also!

Airport Day

The local airport had their open house day today.  They had the rescue trucks and all the snowplows out.  The girls thought this was a really big truck.
The National Guard also had 2 helicopters you could go inside.  This was the big one.
This was the smaller one.  Sasha was busy trying to buckle up for safety.
They liked the little helicopter best.  I think walking into the back of the other one up the ramp was a little scary for them.
They also got to run around on the runway which they liked.  Leeza has spotted someone giving ot balloons so she is headed there.  If the girls were 8, they could have gotten a free plane ride.  They had a bunch of old pilots(most in their 60s and 70s) that take kids 8-17 up in their samll planes for this event each year.  It is called the Young Eagles program.   So in about 5 years, the girls can do that.

Gymnastics Class

We signed up for a 6 weeks gymnastics class at the local rec center.  The girls loved it.  Sadly, they don't offer another class until Fall.  There were about 12 preschools there.  Sasha is a maniac when is comes to summersaults.  She can fly down the mat doing one afer another.  She cannot skip, but she had a good time trying.  Leeza did well and is a really good hopper and can gallop well.
However, most of their time was spent messing around and just having fun.  The other kids were always cutting in line in front of them, but they didn't care.  They did make a few friends which is good.  These will probably be some of the same kids they go to school with.  Sadly, the class is over already and we are off looking for our next activity.

Gardening

The girls love to garden.  They got some little pots from Cousin Niki and plated sunflowers and tomatos.  We also planted some flowers in the garden.  They planted sunflower seeds and corn in the garden too.  We will add some tomato plants once the weather is a little better.
The complete Sponge Bob gardening outfit was worn by Sasha.  Hat, gloves, tools.  Leeza had Dora stuff, but she only used a little of it. By the way, it is about 70 degrees out, but Sasha wanted to wear a sweatshirt and jeans!
Leeza is a true Harmon.  She had to take her shoes off after only a few minutes in the garden.  She has Harmon feet too- big and wide!  So far the garden is doing well.  The rabbits are leaving it alone(at least so far)

Mother's Day

The girls made Grandma some presents for Mpother's Day.  It involved a lot of glue and lots of gems.
They had to cover every little inch.
 They turned out pretty good.
I also got some nice presents this year.  An oven mitt with Sasha's hand print on it.  A card from Leeza and a picture bookmark.  Plus, the girls knew it was Mother's Day this year so they told me Happy Mother's Day several times which was the best present of all.

Easter Day

Of course, Easter day meant more presents.  These are from Cousin Kelsey, and Uncle Dan and Aunt Shawnna.
The girls liked the chocolate bunny.  I was not as thrilled as they were on a sugar high for days.
Sasha liked her chocolate bunny too.  You can't tell, but it is melting in her hands as we are taking this photo.  We had an egg hunt at home later that day.  I will add the pictures of their easter baskets later on as I can't find them right now.  i got really far behind on the blog and I am trying to catch up.  Their baskets were all sorts of bugs- bug chocolate, bug nets, plastic bugs, books on bugs, glow in the dark bugs.........
