Yes, I haven't left the country yet, but I am doing the full tour of Kazakhstan. I found out Tuesday that my region has been changed to Shymkent(also spelled Chimkent, Shimkent). Shymkent is about an hours flight from Almaty. It is the third largest city in Kazakhstan with a population of about 500,000. So even though Almaty would have been nice, Shymkent is also a good place to travel to. 
While it does require an extra flight to get there, it is a region that is still completed in 2 trips or 1 trip and escort. So I will likely be going over there for about 4 weeks and then travel back for a week or have my daughter escorted home a month later. I'll post more details on Shymkent this weekend.

You certainly are making the rounds over there in Kazakhstan! I hope you get to leave soon. We will most likely make 2 trips. It seems like one trip has almost become an impossibility.
Thanks for the info on Vista. We are trying to figure out how to buy a new computer with an "old" operating system on it. Fun stuff.
