Leeza gets report cards from preschool. They don't get grades, just progress marks with being ready for kindergarten as the goal. Of course, it is not the kindergarten that I remember. They need to know how to count to 100 by 1, 2s, 5s and 10s. Know the alphabet and write their names.... They have a list of about 100 things they need to know how to do! I just remember kindergarten more as learning how to go to a class each day without crying. Leeza gets 2 report cards- one fromclass and one from her therapists(physical and speech). She scored 100 on her physical therapy report- meaning she has accomplished all the goals they set for her. Yeah. I can tell as she runs so much better than 6 months ago and doesn't fall down like she did. Her scores imporved in all areas in speech, but she still has a ways to go. Leeza is making good progress in all class areas except scissors! That is probably because I think it is a little crazy to give scissors to 3 year olds, but I guess I am wrong. So I got the girls scissors and they have been having a ball with them. Leeza likes to cut paper, but Sasha Loves to cut paper. She will cut paper all day long into tiny tiny pices. Leeza has also tried to cut Sasha's hair and her shirt(unsuccessfully so far). She did manage to somehow cut Sasha's arm a little(it is more like a scrape). The one area where she scored as ready for kindergarten is in class room routine! Leeza is a girl who loves to have a routine so that is not surprising.
We are working on the different shapes and she does triangles, squares and diamonds pretty good. Circles and curves are next.
The weather here has been a little wild lately. We got 1/2 " of ice followed by 6-7 inches of sleet. Then we got 3" of snow on top of that this weekend. We went to Ace Hardware and got a sled. We bundled up in coats and hats and mittens and went sledding in the driveway.
Sasha rode in the sled the whole time. She enjoys being pulled around without the work.
The driveway is steep enough that the sled goes down it pretty good. Leeza took one trip down in the sled and then wanted to pull it. She likes to be in charge! She would pull Sasha to the bottom of the driveway and then call for Mama to help pull Sasha back to the top. They had a good time. I also pulled them up and down the sidewalk and Sasha liked to see my footprints in the snow.
We didn't stay out for a long time since I am still sick and they were getting cold pretty fast. Maybe next year we will be ready for a big hill. Acutally they are probably already ready, it is just me who would be scared seeing them go flying down the hill!

Isn't it amazing the difference that time makes in their little lives.... HaHaHa.... I guess they enjoy the difference.
