Circus

Last weekend, we went to the circus.  The girls had a great time.  They did better than I expected as the circus ended up being over 3 hours (with the pre show)  This was right before intermission.  Sasha was starting to fade soem and did not want to sit on the elephant.  we finally got her to smile for the picture.  We went and got some popcorn and a hot dog and that seemed to help alot.
We got there after the preshow had already started.  We watched part of it from here and then went down on the floor.  Too many people to really see much down there.,
We had seats between an aisle and the stairs so it was like a little 3 seat section to ourselves.  It let Leeza stand on the stairs and move around some when she got antsy.
The lions were good, but one was really cranky.  She got to skip most of her trips by growling at the trainer.  THey also had a dog act and even a house cat act.  I didn't know you could train a house cat.
These were chinese acrobats who dived through a circle of swords they lit on fire while wearing a bag over their heads.  They were really good.
And of course, they had elephants.  It is not a circus without elephants.

March- Is it Spring yet??

I wonder if one day the girls will look back on these pictures and wonder if I ever bought them any pants. They do have pants- 2 drawers full of them, they just don't like to wear them.
We hadn't played with the bounce house and ball pit for a while so I got that out today.  The girls had a blast.  The weather was bad again- it even snowed a little.
They like to climb over the tunnel rather than through it.  Look at Leeza's leg- she is getting so tall and skinny.
They played all day with it.  All of the balls in the ball pit ended up outside the pit and all over the living room
We did take a short break to bake some cupcakes.  The girls had to wear their Valentine's Day sun glasses to make them for some reason.

Snowman

If you look closely, you can see our snowman by their feet.  There is 4 inches of frozen sleet on the ground, but it is too hard to make a snowman out of.  As you can see, we can walk on top of it and barely make footprints.
This is right before the girls smashed the snowman and squashed him flat.  Leeza was wanting to do that from the minute that we made him.
We took the sled around the yard a few times, but mainly the girls ran and fell down and rolled around and piled up.
Lots of running and running and running
And running and running and running!

Mornings

On the weekends, I sm usually a few minutes late going to get the girls up.  You never know what you are going to see when you open the door as they use those few minutes to do some wild things.

Leeza decided to hide all of her blankets under her mattress.
So all the blankets and pillows and stuffed animals were shoved under the mattress.  If you look closely at the upper corner, you might also see something else.
Yep, she also shoved her sister in there.  They thought this was hilarious!
I just had to add a picture of them in their new Valentine's Day PJs.  They had just got out of the bath.

Juice

Leeza went to the refrig, opened it,got out the bottle of juice, got 2 glasses, poured her and Sasha glasses of juice, gave one to Sasha and drank one herself, put the now empty juice bottle in the garbage, and almost had the empty cups in the sink when I walked back into the room! I haven't let her pour any juice in glasses yet and I didn't think she could reach the juice in the refrig.
So am I freaked that she was walking around with a bottle of juice and could have spilled it, proud that she shared the juice and got her sister a glass too or sad that my little girls are growing up so fast???  I haven't decided yet!

Report Card

Leeza gets report cards from preschool.  They don't get grades, just progress marks with being ready for kindergarten as the goal.  Of course, it is not the kindergarten that I remember.  They need to know how to count to 100 by 1, 2s, 5s and 10s.  Know the alphabet and write their names....  They have a list of about 100 things they need to know how to do!  I just remember kindergarten more as learning how to go to a class each day without crying. Leeza gets 2 report cards- one fromclass and one from her therapists(physical and speech).  She scored 100 on her physical therapy report- meaning she has accomplished all the goals they set for her.  Yeah. I can tell as she runs so much better than 6 months ago and doesn't fall down like she did.  Her scores imporved in all areas in speech, but she still has a ways to go.  Leeza is making good progress in all class areas except scissors!  That is probably because I think it is a little crazy to give scissors to 3 year olds, but I guess I am wrong.  So I got the girls scissors and they have been having a ball with them.  Leeza likes to cut paper, but Sasha Loves to cut paper.  She will cut paper all day long into tiny tiny pices.  Leeza has also tried to cut Sasha's hair and her shirt(unsuccessfully so far).  She did manage to somehow cut Sasha's arm a little(it is more like a scrape).  The one area where she scored as ready for kindergarten is in class room routine!  Leeza is a girl who loves to have a routine so that is not surprising.
We are working on the different shapes and she does triangles, squares and diamonds pretty good.  Circles and curves are next.
The weather here has been a little wild lately.  We got 1/2 " of ice followed by 6-7 inches of sleet.  Then we got 3" of snow on top of that this weekend.  We went to Ace Hardware and got a sled.  We bundled up in coats and hats and mittens and went sledding in the driveway.
Sasha rode in the sled the whole time.  She enjoys being pulled around without the work.
The driveway is steep enough that the sled goes down it pretty good.  Leeza took one trip down in the sled and then wanted to pull it.  She likes to be in charge!  She would pull Sasha to the bottom of the driveway and then call for Mama to help pull Sasha back to the top.  They had a good time.  I also pulled them up and down the sidewalk and Sasha liked to see my footprints in the snow.
We didn't stay out for a long time since I am still sick and they were getting cold pretty fast.  Maybe next year we will be ready for a big hill.  Acutally they are probably already ready, it is just me who would be scared seeing them go flying down the hill!

Still sick

2 weeks ago, Leeza was sick and threw up on me about 9 times.  Surprisingly, I turned around and got sick.  I wonder why!  Then Leeza got a bad cough and fever.  She then shared it with Sasha.  So they both had it.  Leeza finally is feeling better, but Sasha keeps running a fever.  It comes and goes.  When it comes however, she gets really hot really fast.  Now I have the cold.  So me and Sasha are using all the kleenex up in the house.
Leeza drew a picture of me today.  I guess I must look really bad!  She was very proud of it though.  She just went from scribbling to actually trying to draw something.  So this is a big step for her.  Most things she draws look sort of like this, but it is so much better than random lines.
